Megapixels!!!…. the “camera geek’s” currency in todayz world! its the talk of the dynamic and photophilic, clickomaniac town
….
The major question here is that what is “megapixel”??..and how what kind of camera will be suitable for me??… what will be the picture quality??
Megapixel :
A megapixel is 1 million pixels, and is a term used not only for the number of pixels in an image, but also to express the number of image sensor elements of digital cameras or the number of display elements of digital displays. For example, a camera with an array of 2048×1536 sensor elements is commonly said to have “3.1 megapixels” (2048 × 1536 = 3,145,728). The neologism sensel more properly describes the elements of a digital camera’s sensor, since these are picture-detecting rather than picture-producing elements.
When it comes to buying a camera phone, we usually tend to go towards the one with the higher “megapixel” camera (only if you can afford it!!
). BUT THE QUESTION IS, DO WE NEED IT??…
Have you ever seen a picture taken with a 3 megapixel camera or a 5 megapixel camera??… the quality out of it is no doubt astonishing! but for a bussiness man, who megrely has time for clicking high quality snaps, but can do away with pictures that can be printed well atleast, needs a 5 mp camera phone??..
Answer is no.

Photo from a 5 mp (THIS ONE IS ASTONISHING!)
Summary is….
I’m often asked, “How many megapixels do I really need?”
My answer is “As many as you can afford.”
I’d recommend a minimum of 2 megapixels for general shooting. More if you want to do serious shooting or if you think you might want to print some of those images at 5×7, 8×10 or larger sizes.
